Our Story
Built on Faith. Driven by Mercy.
Lifehouse of Mercy exists because we believe no one is beyond redemption — and that a safe sober home is where transformation begins.
Our Story
Lifehouse of Mercy was born out of a simple conviction: that the men and women walking out of prison gates deserve more than a bus ticket and a prayer. They deserve a community that will stand with them and show them the way.
Founded in Star, Idaho, we have been serving the incarcerated community for the better part of a decade on the inside. A handful of volunteers who believe that faith without action is empty. Over eight years, that conviction has grown into a vision for a full transitional housing ministry serving the greater Treasure Valley — one life, one home, one second chance at a time.
We are not a government program. We are a community of believers who refuse to look away.
Our Faith Foundation
Everything we do flows from the belief that every human being is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity. We are a Christ-centered organization, and our faith is not a footnote — it is the engine. We partner with local churches, pray with our residents, and walk alongside them as brothers and sisters, not case managers.
"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was in prison and you came to me."
— Matthew 25:35–36
What We Stand For
Dignity
Every person who walks through our doors is treated as a child of God — not a case number, not a statistic. Each person is created with a unique gift that we hope to help them tap into.
Accountability
We hold our residents to high standards because we believe in their potential. Real transformation requires honest communications and a belief in the person's ability to be successful.
Mercy
We extend the same mercy we have received. Failure is not the end of the story — it is often the beginning. We aslo help others tap into the grace that allows them to be successful.
Community
No one heals alone. We build genuine relationships and point others to the greatest relationship they can have. We are not looking at this as just one moment in time while a person is a resident in our program, but an eternal mission that outlast all of us.
